For the last decade, the tools of the future have been hoarded by those at the top. Silicon Valley builds billion-dollar platforms, and enterprise corporations hire armies of engineers to squeeze every last drop of attention and capital from local economies.

Meanwhile, the actual backbone of America—the plumbers, the bakers, the independent retailers, the ma & pa shops—are left behind. They are handed watered-down DIY website builders that don't actually work, or they are harassed by predatory marketing "agencies" that charge astronomical fees for snake-oil services.

This is unacceptable.

We believe technology should empower, not extract.

The David The Gnomad Organization was founded on a singular observation: the amount of money in your bank account should not determine your right to be visible online.

A small business that serves its community well shouldn't be choked out of the market just because they don't have $15,000 laying around for top-tier digital infrastructure. They are busy running their business—they shouldn't be penalized for not having an MBA or a computer science degree.
